In May of 2015 the United States food and drug administration issued warnings that SGTL2 Inhibitors had been linked a serious condition DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis)  which can lead to serious injury.  In December of 2015 the FDA strengthened the earlier warnings related to SGLT2 Inhbitors and DKA. In June of 2016 the FDA issued a related warning to the prior warnings and required all manufacturers of SGLT2 Inhibitors to add issues related to DKA and secondary injuries related to DKA to the black box warnings of the products.

Onglyza Saxagliptin and Alogliptin Lawsuit

Onglza Lawsuit

Like SGLT2 Inhibitors Onglyza is a non insulin based medication intended as a treatment for diabetes. Unlike SGLT2 inhibitors do no work by eliminating sugar through urination.

Onlyza and the other medications listed in the class below containing  Saxagliptin and Alogliptin are known as Incretin mimetics. These drugs  are agents that act like incretin hormones such as glucagon-likepeptide-1 (GLP-1). They bind to GLP-1 receptors and stimulate glucose dependent insulin release, therefore act as antihyperglycemics. Incretin mimetics also suppress appetite and inhibit glucagon secretion.

Brands of Saxagliptin and Alogliptin Drugs:

Onglyza

              Kombiglyze XR

Nesina

Kazano

Oseni

A U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) safety review has found that type 2 diabetes medicines containing saxagliptin and alogliptin may increase the risk of heart failure, particularly in patients who already have heart or kidney disease. Heart failure can result in the heart not being able to pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs. As a result, we are adding new warnings to the drug labels about this safety issue.

If you or a loved one took any of the diabetes drugs listed above and suffered a heart attack or other heart condition, please contact our office today to inquire about your rights to file a claim for damages against the makers of these drugs.

Talcum Powder Ovarian Cancer Lawsuit

Talcum Powder LawsuitLawsuits against Johnson and Johnson  allege that women who used Talcum powder on a regular basis have developed Ovarian cancer as a result of the toxic increments found in Talc based products. If is further alleged that the company was well aware of the risk of cancer associated with their products and did nothing to warn women about the dangers of using these products.

Several Cases have already went before a jury and received multi-million dollar awards for the plaintiffs. More trials are expected to occur over the next few years. Experts speculate that the massive awards handed down by juries are in part due to the overwhelming evidence that the defendant was well aware of the dangers with their products and withheld the information from an unsuspecting public.

If you or a loved on used Talcum Powder and later were diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, please contact our office today to inquire about filing a Talcum Powder Ovarian Cancer Lawsuit.

Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics Lawsuit

levaquin-cipro-avelox-floroquinolonesIn June of 2016 United States Food and Drug Administration published an advisory related to Fluroquinolone antibiotics including Levaquin, Cipro and Avelox. The FDA advisory included warnings of serious health conditions related to these drugs.

“The Food and Drug Administration is advising that the serious side effects associated with fluoroquinolone antibacterial drugs generally outweigh the benefits for patients with acute sinusitis, acute bronchitis, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections who have other treatment options. For patients with these conditions, fluoroquinolones should be reserved for those who do not have alternative treatment options. An FDA safety review has shown that fluoroquinolones when used systemically (i.e. tablets, capsules, and injectable) are associated with disabling and potentially permanent serious side effects that can occur together. These side effects can involve the tendons, muscles, joints, nerves, and central nervous system.

If you or a loved on Took Levaquin, Cipro or Avelox and later experienced problems related to nerves, muscles, joints or tendons, please contact our firm today for free information about your rights to file a legal claim against the makers of these products.
